KNYSNA NEWS - In a further attempt to assist victims who are faced with the daunting task of removing rubble, restoring or rebuilding their properties, the Garden Route Rebuild Initiative (GRRI) has released a document containing frequently asked questions with answers for those in the Knysna and Bitou areas who are victims of the fire disaster.
These cover the following queries:
• cover the process to be followed by those with damage
• how to apply for demolition
• what to do with building rubble
• the applicability of energy efficiency regulations
• applying for occupation certificates
• how to apply for a temporary structure and what structures will be allowed
• what fees have been waived by the municipalities and how to apply
• what steps to take in respect of water conservation in the light of the current water restrictions being imposed in each municipality.
