PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plett residents and visitors have the opportunity to give some puppy love as the local animal welfare society is set to host an "amazing race" to raise funds for the organisation.
Plett Tourism and several other organisations and businesses have sponsored an event, PAWS Amazing Race, which is a quiz and treasure hunt by car.
"No need for extreme speed or physical endurance," organiser Marjsa Hall-Green said.
She added that teams would start the race from five pit-stops - all familiar Plett locations - where participants will perform fun activities before they are given sheets with cryptic clues to take them to their destination.
"The clues will test everyday knowledge of Plett and people's powers of observation. On some of the legs of the race there may be a roadblock to test the team's ingenuity."
The event will take place on Saturday 1 May, and each team can consist of as many people that can fit into a car. "The more the merrier, but only four members will count when performing activities."

The pit-stops will be allocated to teams, once they have made their booking. "Clues will take you to your destination, where you will be timed and allocated points."
All teams will meet at the end of the race at Mel's Place in Keurbooms, where winners will be announced and prizes presented. Mel's Place will also be home to some festivities, including a market, live music and refreshments.
Teams will set off on their quests from 09:30. Entries are R100 per person and include a T-shirt. Entry forms are available at KwikSpar, MacFee's and Mel's Place.
"Please support this fun-filled fundraiser for PAWS. We need your support more than ever," Hall-Green said.
