KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna ANC will see huge changes in council chambers after the upcoming local government elections, as only one of the seven serving ANC councillors has made it onto their ward candidate list.
Ward 6 councillor Clive Witbooi is the only ANC councillor listed on the ward committee list again, but he will now have to fight for Ward 9. The Knysna ANC chief whip, Stephen de Vries, is on the Eden district council list.
The regional ANC secretary, Major Sepoko, did not want to reveal the Knysna proportional (PR) list, which leaves voters in the dark as to whether the other five serving ANC councillors will make a comeback on that list.
In Plettenberg Bay, the ANC put their trust in Monica Seyisi (Ward 2), Hilda Campher (Ward 4), Mphakamisa Mdali (Ward 5) and Sandiso Gcabayi (Ward 6), to represent the ANC as ward candidates for the next term of governance.
New candidates are Collin Koopman (Ward 1), Xola Matyhila (Ward 3) Quinton Hoffman (Ward 7).
