Following on from last week's Knysna Council meeting, wherein council discussed the 2023/24 MTREF Budget, KPH received this letter from Knysna resident Ilse de Beer:
I had the privilege to sit in on Wednesday's council meeting. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the Council for the work they are doing. It was however clear that the purpose of a town council, which is to have the fundamental wellbeing of ALL its residents and town at heart, was lost to some council members.
These council members are politically driven and do not have the joint interest of Knysna at heart.
We must stop playing the political card and stand together to ensure that one and all in our beautiful town prosper, feel safe and have hope for a better tomorrow. I also in the strongest sense of the word oppose the unrealistic, crippling budget passed at this meeting.
