KNYSNA ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Hornlee-born musician Leche' "Che'The Muse" Terblanche (20) has released her debut EP, Evolve, with eight of her own original compositions, each telling its own story.
In an interview with Knysna-Plett Herald (KPH) on Saturday, Terblanche said she worked with talented local artists Likamva "Acidiq Truth" Machu, Rowina "Wizel" Nell, Franklin "Ghost" Ruiters and Johnny Ash, who added strings on the first track.
"I can't say I have a favourite song on the EP," she said. "All eight songs tell a different story about something that I experienced or am currently going through. A song like Internal war in my EP would always be my soft spot. Or The Muse, a victory song I wrote to myself after overcoming obstacles in my life.
"Many people relate to this song and I have received lots of feedback from those who have listened to the track."
Terblanche, who fell in love with music at the age of 10, said she sings in different genres but her main output is Soul and RnB. "I also do gospel music. In 2012 I joined a gospel group. The first time I sang, at the age of 10 years, was a solo in church," she said.
She has been receiving great support from the people of Knysna and mentioned that her music is available on a number of digital platforms, from where they can be downloaded or streamed.
According to Terblanche she has a list of gigs lined up over December and will be launching her own clothing brand early next year.
"I am grateful for my producer Tyler Tonic; without him I could not have created such art. He is a talented producer. I also worked with Edwill "Shigaraki" Wildeman and Tyler Tonic who produced beats, mixed and mastered all the songs on the album."
