SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Sedgefield Tennis Club has become renowned for the amazing spirit amongst its members and the 2011 championship was a celebration of this camaraderie on Friday, December 16 at the club.

As the groups played out the round robin section, the afternoon was poised to see the semi-finalists battle it out for a place in the final match. The semis were played between Jenny Myburgh and Alwyn Burger, Denise Geach and Nico Alberts, Carol Elion and Roy Harrington, Cherie Bester and Roger Vande Wiele.

After a tough final the champions for 2011 were decided in a sudden death play-off. Elion and Vande Wiele were the victorious doubles pairing.

In the true spirit of Sedgefield tennis a braai was lit while the prize-giving ceremony was held and the members and their partners went on to enjoy a relaxing evening together.
