KNYSNA NEWS - After a weekend of intense clashes and high-stakes rugby, Sky Blues emerged as the undisputed champions of the Mayoral Rugby Tournament. 

In a thrilling finale at Safe Hub on Sunday, they overwhelmed Young Brothers 30 - 5, claiming the R50 000 grand prize.

Sky Blues' triumph comes after a series of challenging encounters against formidable opponents, proving their dominance on the field. 

Young Brothers fought valiantly to secure second place, earning R25 000 for their spirited performance. Meanwhile, All Blacks and Green Lovers were each awarded R10 000 in recognition of their competitive efforts and contribution to an unforgettable tournament.

 The event, organised under the vision of Mayor Thando Matika, reignited community passion for rugby and highlighted the sport's ability to bring people together. 

Spectators braved rainy conditions to cheer on their favourite teams, their energy transforming the tournament into a celebration of community spirit.
