Including Elle and Knysna municipal speaker Georlene Wolmarans, a strong contingent of Knysna and Garden Route locals went to watch the rugby.
Elle said of the event: "It was amazing. To hear 44 000 people of all colours and ages standing together was awesome!" She added that she was the only woman photographer among 30 men photographers from South Africa and overseas.
"I was sitting next to a photographer who shot Wimbledon, wow what an honour!"
According to Elle, Reuters, Gallo Images, Associated press, all provincial papers and overseas publications were in attendance.
