KNYSNA NEWS - A talented group of dancers from Sidwell Roman Ballet Studio have returned victorious from the Cape Town Eisteddfod held recently with a stunning set of performances.
Under the instruction of Sidwell Roman and Courtney-Drew Meyer, these six dancers, Gabriella Jonsson, Christina Jonsson, Jana Olivier, Caylee Dodds, Rikhardt van Niekerk and Cayden Bean, performed 19 dances, earning four honours (70–84%) and 15 diplomas (85–100%).
All diploma-awarded pieces advanced to the finals on 24 May.
Standout achievements:
- Gabriella (9): Winner in classical and open choice
- Caylee (10): Winner in open choice
- Cayden (17-19): Swept his age group with wins in classical, demi-character, and open choice and was also named the best open choice solo of the entire Eisteddfod.
- Group quartet (Jana, Christina, Gabriella, Caylee): 1st place in pre-amateur quartet (11-12 years)
