ARCHERY NEWS - A young archer from the Hoekwil archery club, Gideon Pelser (12), brought home a bronze medal from the 2022 South African National Archery Association's (Sanaa) National Championship Indoor/Outdoor event held on Saturday and Sunday, 8 and 9 October.
Pelser competed in the boys u.13 recurve bow indoors class at the Cape Town Bowtime Club. This was the first time he shot indoors, which added to his experience as a promising star archer.
Pelser, orginally from Bloemfontein, started archery in 2020 with the Hoekwil archery club under the tutelage of Mike Smales.
To enable him to practise more to craft his skill, this young man is working towards getting his own bow and practice range at home. He aims to enter more national and even international competitions.
