PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection's annual Golf Challenge Day, held on Saturday 14 August at the Goose Valley Country Club, was an enormous success, according to Paul Duverge, group general manager of Cape Summer Villa Boutique Collection.
"As with last year's Golf Challenge we had a record sell-out. Over 100 players participated, and we garnered a whopping R14 500 after expenses, from ticket sales and hole sponsorships," he said.
According to a press release issued last week, the collection's focus has always been about uplifting the community and the 2021 Golf Day Challenge concept was to "Share the love" in support of local, free-standing restaurants that need all the support they can get. Sky Villa Boutique Hotel brought Nineteen 89 on board to cater for the post prize-giving event.
There were also a few raffles which raised R2 000 in additional funds, Duverge explained. "All round it was a fabulous day - well done to the team and big thanks to all our supporters and super-star sponsors," he said.
Prizes included hotel vouchers, meal vouchers, golf goodies, a prize for the best-dressed team - which was won by the Cape Summer Villas team. The grand prize, a fabulous five-night stay at one of the premier properties of Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection, was won by Elrich Juries.
"It makes me proud that Goose Valley Golf Course was part of this important initiative. It was a hugely successful golf day," said Daniel Gouws, Goose Valley's PGA head professional at the signature Gary Player-designed 18-hole, 72-par golf course.
Sponsors of the day included ComX Networks, Trilogy, South African Breweries, Distell Group, Simple Brand Powerade, Market Square Mall, Canon South Africa, Pezula Golf Club & Championship Course, Diageo SA, Mt Vernon Wine Estate, Pernod Ricard, KWV Brandy, Chill Beverages, Bidfood and Risk Benefit Solutions.
