KNYSNA NEWS - Paris United handed reigning champions la Liga a heavy 5-1 defeat last Saturday in their Safa Eden Regional Men's League clash at Lawaaikamp Stadium in George.

The home side produced a dominant display, with goals from Liyema Tukwayo, Banele Keswa, Lihle Msitshane and a brace from Thamsanqa Kebe sealing a convincing victory. Siyamthanda Gysman scored the visitors' only goal.

La Liga started brightly, showing pace on the flanks and taking an early lead, but Paris United responded strongly to level the match before extending its advantage before halftime.

Windy conditions in the second half favoured the hosts, who applied sustained pressure and capitalised on defensive errors. 

Despite a standout performance from la Liga midfielder Zuko Matume, the visitors struggled to contain Paris United's attacking momentum.

La Liga remains 10th on the standings with 17 points, while Paris United move up the table with nine points, boosting their fight to escape the relegation zone.
