KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna-based side FC United were crowned as the Bongani Dyana soccer tournament champions after beating Black Cats (George) in a penalty shoot-out in a thrilling grand finale on Saturday 28 September at the Smutsville sport facility in Sedgefield.
With the victory, FC United, who play in the Safa Eden Hollywoodbets Regional League, kicked off their season on a high note, while getting ready for Regional League football.
The Bongani Dyana soccer tournament, which started in Sedgefield on 11 September, is a preseason "football festival" involving clubs from across the Eden Region.
The following 20 teams took part in the tournament: Makapela, Fairview, All Stars, Smuts United B, Sedge United A, Simunye, Sedge United B, Smuts United A, Black Cats, Young Boys, Smuts United A, Western Tigers, Paris United, FC United, Voota, Flamingo, Burning Fire, Young Pirates, Two For Joy and FC Rebels.
