KNYSNA NEWS - FC Rebels from Hornlee were crowned champions of the Oyster soccer festival last Sunday following a well-deserved 2-0 victory over FC United in an action-packed final held at Loerie Park Stadium.
This tightly contested match saw Roger Armoed opening the score for the Rebels from a penalty spot in the first half, before Simamkele Seconds sealed the win with a powerful second-half strike.
The win caps off a strong tournament performance by FC Rebels, who booked their place in the final by edging Red Eagles 2-1 in the semi-finals.
FC United had reached the final after a tense penalty shoot-out victory over Young Boys.

Goalkeeper Angelo Manuel stood tall for the Rebels, pulling off several crucial saves to deny FC United clear chances.
FC Rebels head coach Testony Sinclair said his team was thrilled with the win.
"The boys showed great character and discipline throughout the tournament. We will take these positives into the regional league and aim to keep improving," he said.
This year's edition of the Oyster Soccer Festival featured 32 teams and drew large crowds, showcasing local football talent and community spirit.
