KNYSNA NEWS - Hornlee Boys FC Rebels and Smuts United played to an entertaining 0-0 draw last Sunday at the Smutsville sport field in Sedgefield in a tightly contested Safa Eden Regional Men's League encounter.
The home side applied sustained pressure down the flanks, frustrating the Rebels' back line, yet failed to find the net in the first half.
The Knysna outfit absorbed the pressure well and launched promising counter-attacks.
Rebels were awarded a penalty after a foul inside the box, but Roger Armoed squandered the opportunity from the spot as the half ended goalless.
The second half saw both teams create chances, with Smuts continuing to attack wide, but neither side could convert.
Both sides pushed for a positive result but ultimately had to settle for one point each.
The result leaves Smuts ninth and Rebels tenth on 22 points after 15 matches. Rebels coach Testony Sinclair rued missed chances but welcomed the away point.
