PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - After a weekend off, Oriented Birds will be visiting the Cape Winelands Region this weekend. The Safa Eden representatives will be locking horns with the struggling Batalions FC in a Western Cape ABC Motsepe League away fixture on Saturday afternoon, 10 February, at Mbekweni Stadium in Paarl.
The Plettenberg Bay side will be fighting for their second victory away from home when they take on the relegation candidates.
The Plett boys, who so far have played six league games with one victory, one draw and four losses, have only four points after six matches.
The Cape Winelands side are fighting for their ABC Motsepe League status after initial difficulties in their opening league fixtures.
The Mbekweni-based side has played six league games, all of which they lost, and are sitting at the bottom of the log table in the Western Cape ABC Motsepe league Stream B.
The University of Stellenbosch football team, Maties, are doing exceptionally well this season. After registering five wins with nine goals, they are sitting comfortably at the top of the stream with 15 points.
In the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League Stream A, Cape Town side FN Rangers are leading their group with six victories after collecting 18 points in their opening six league games.
The Central Karoo side Royal Blues are at the bottom of the log table in Stream A with one point after playing six fixtures and are now in the relegation fight.
