South Africa, who won the toss and elected to bat first, posted a massive 438 for four thanks to centuries from Quinton de Kock (109), Faf du Plessis (133) and AB de Villiers (119) and then Kagiso Rabada (4-41) and Dale Steyn (3-38) ripped the heart out of the Indian middle order as the hosts capitulated for 224 all out in 36 overs to hand South Africa the series 3-2.
South Africa had three centurions in the same ODI innings for the second time in history as De Kock, Du Plessis and De Villiers took the game away from the hosts with such ferocity that the Proteas smashed over 140 runs in the final 10 overs of their innings.
