Update
KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna police and community police forum (CPF) have sent out an important notice to residents of Knysna regarding a march to be conducted by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) today, 1 May.
To avoid any possible traffic congestion, both the police and CPF advises all that the march will be starting at 09:00 at Nekkies, which will then proceed to the Knysna Provincial Hospital via the N2.
According to the information supplied, those taking part in the march will proceed to Food Lovers Market, corner of Waterfront Drive and Tide Street at 13:30. Memorandums will be handed over and the EFF march will disperse at 15:30.
According to EFF Ward 3 branch command team secretary and regional member Siyabulela Kolanisi the march was brought on by numerous concerns existing in Knysna, some of which are the exploitation of workers, racism at the work place, nepotism, and issues relating to doctors, staff and services rendered at the provincial hospital.
“Today we say enough is enough, we are ready to defend the voiceless,” said Kolanisi.
