"It is not about the money, it is about the love and care of people who have been touched by my situation," Swanepoel told the George Herald on Tuesday.
Swanepoel (20), a UCT drama student, survived a shark attack on Saturday 27 June at Buffalo Bay while body surfing in which his right leg was severed above the knee.
Zelia Mullins, of Prince Albert, Caleb's home town, has launched a fundraiser for his prosthetic leg. Mullins's Facebook page (Zelia Borrageiro Mullins) explains that various options are available regarding a prosthesis, ranging from mechanical to fully computerised legs.
