Update: Shark attack victim recovering

GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The young man who was attacked by a shark at Buffel's Bay on Saturday, underwent surgery in the Mediclinic George yesterday.

Caleb Swanepoel (19) lost his right leg, above the knee, during the attack.

Shortly before the attack, Caleb and his brothers spotted the shark, but initially thought it was a dolphin.

Caleb’s father, Luc, told the George Herald (Knysna-Plett Herald's sister newspaper) that the operation went well and that Caleb is currently in a stable condition.
 
"We are expecting him to be moved out of High Care later today," he said.
