PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Two men sustained serious injuries when a bakkie overturned on the R340 in the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, the crash occurred at about 03:30 on 28 February between Wittedrift and Plettenberg Bay.
It is alleged that a white Toyota Hilux was travelling from Wittedrift towards the N2 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The bakkie overturned, leaving both the driver and his passenger seriously injured.
They were treated on the scene and transported by ambulance to Knysna Provincial Hospital for further medical care.
Plettenberg Bay Police have opened a case of reckless and negligent driving for investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Once the investigation is finalised, the docket will be submitted to the senior public prosecutor for a decision on whether to proceed with prosecution.
