KNYSNA NEWS - During the month of February, thousands of members of Lions Clubs International and their supporters took to beaches, streets, parks and walkways across the country as part of the Multiple District 410 Walk for Little Warriors.
The aim of the exercise was an awareness campaign for children battling and surviving cancer.
The walk showed solidarity with young cancer patients and their families, sending the message that no child fights cancer alone.
The initiative also focused on raising awareness of the early warning signs of childhood cancer and encouraging timely diagnosis and treatment.
Proceeds from many of the walks are donated to organisations such as CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa and other local cancer support groups that provide essential services to affected children and their families.
In Knysna, the awareness walk took place at the parkrun on 14 February, led by Lions team leader CP Young.
