KNYSNA NEWS - The RIC24 (Regional Investment Conference 2024) is generating excitement and anticipation across the Greater Knysna region as it promises to be a transformative event for local development, investment, and growth.

On 6 September, a crucial stakeholder engagement meeting was held at the Council Chambers, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss progress and strategies for the upcoming event.
Dynamic collaboration
Led by the Yona Yethu Initiative - a youth-driven non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering young people and finding innovative solutions to social challenges - alongside the Greater Knysna Business Chamber (GKBC), Knysna municipality, SMTAX, and the Garden Route District Municipality, the meeting set the stage for a dynamic collaboration aimed at reshaping the future of the Greater Knysna region.
Direct investment
The conference's primary objectives include driving purposeful direct investment into the region and promoting sustainable growth and community development.
During the engagement, participants explored opportunities for collaboration, potential sponsorships, and identified critical areas of support needed for the event's success.
The meeting featured a diverse range of stakeholders, including representatives from the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, SALGA (South African Local Government Association), MerSETA (Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority), Service SETA, SANParks, Standard Bank, Capitec, Knysna SAPS, SEDA (Small Enterprise Development Agency), Wesgro, the Department of Public Works, local businesses, Eden FM, the Garden Route District Municipality, UXI, and various media partners.

Nathi Mabukane, a member of the GKBC, developer of the RIC24 concept and founder of the Yona Yethu Initiative, emphasised the importance of meaningful collaboration and investment.
