KNYSNA NEWS - A resident of West Nekkies, Knysna, has sent in photographs showing a build-up of rubbish in a water trench bordering a street, and on an embankment alongside the trench, in West Nekkies, and says "all the streets in West Nekkies look like this".
The resident, who requested anonymity, said a person who lived nearby him had been awarded a contract by the municipality to clear rubbish from streets in West Nekkies, but had failed to do this, repeatedly.
He had taken the photographs in Kaalkol Road. "I live in super unhygienic conditions. The water furrow in my street is filled with rubbish, that has been lying there for almost a year.
"Little children are playing in the street every day. I have a four-year-old daughter that plays in these streets, every day."
The municipality was asked to provide comment on the situation, and when it is received, it will be published.
