SEDGEFIELD NEWS - South Africa's rich motoring history will be celebrated at the Eden Car and Motorcycle Show at the Scarab Arts & Crafts Village in Sedgefield.
Running from 10:00 to 16:00 on Sunday 6 July, the show forms part of the Knysna Oyster Festival. Entry is R70 for adults, with free admission for children under 16.
On display will be rare South African-built cars such as the GSM Flamingo, two Puma GTs, and high-performance sports cars from Hi-Tech Automotive, including the AC Zagato and Rossion.
A little known fact is that president Cyril Ramaphosa was a 50% shareholder in the company for a short time from 2006.
International highlights include a Low Drag GT Jaguar E-Type, Buick Riviera boattail, and a rare Italia coupe by Michelotti. Enthusiasts can also enjoy classic Citroëns, Lotus 7 replicas, Cobra kits, and a range of modern supercars.
Besides these rarities there will be a host of highly desirable supercars and sports cars for visitors to view. They range from supercars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Audi (R8) to limited production sports cars such as Aston Martins, Jaguars, Morgens, and a Jensen.
Proceeds from the show will benefit local charities.
