KNYSNA NEWS - As the new school year kicked off for all the remaining educational facilities, Keurbosch School rang it in with several novel surprises. Not only could pupils at the only Cambridge-accredited school in Knysna look forward to schooling at a brand-new campus, but a new Learner Management System (LMS) was also introduced to support learners through their academic journey.
When private schools were allowed to return to in-class teaching on 1 February, Keurbosch students did not return to their 34 Queen Street campus where the school had been situated for the last five years, but moved into their new educational home a stone's throw away at 13 Queen Street.
Academic director Michiel Coetzee said the new campus lends itself to more efficient learning with bigger classrooms and wide open outside spaces.
In the meantime, the school had also launched its new LMS as a supplementary aid to students' academics. The platform not only allows students to access lessons taught in class online, but also to do revision and complete assessments to better prepare for exams.
Students can also find videos and other educational material aimed at explaining difficult concepts on the system. Keurbosch uses several other online learning aids to assist students.
"We are passionate about developing our students' full potential and therefore do everything in our power to ensure that they flourish," Coetzee said.
