Update
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The N2 in Plettenberg Bay has reopened following a series of riots since Tuesday night.
This after the Bitou Municipality engaged with the Qolweni community.
Municipal spokesman Andile Namntu said a meeting was held between the town’s deputy mayor Sandiso Gcbayi and the community with the aim of bringing the action, which led to the closure of a section of the national road, to an end.
He said the action was largely due to the housing development in Ward 3. “The members of the community raised a concern that they are not informed about the progress of this project. They were not happy that the project seems to happen at a very slow pace,” Namntu said.
Gcbayi gave the community a full update on the project’s progress.
