KNYSNA NEWS - Eden FM's annual soup drive recently wrapped up after three weeks of supporting those in need in communities up and down the Garden Route.
The drive started on Tuesday 28 June in Riversdale and ended off in Knysna on Monday 18 July, visiting five other towns during the course of the three weeks.
On the final day, in Knysna for Mandela Day, the team behind the drive started handing out soup and bread at the Lamco Service Station in Hornlee as early as 06:00. This also formed part of the radio's breakfast show with DJ Sebastian.
The drive then moved to Woodmill Lane for the lunch-time programme between 12:00 and 15:00 with DJ Grandt (Rasper).
"We were joined by Red Cross Knysna who had a winter drive on until the end of August and Pick n Pay for their Mandela Day 67 minutes," said Celeste Wabanie, one of the drive organisers.
"Eden FM would like to thank our sponsors Log Inn Knysna, Woodmill Lane Shopping Centre, Red Cross Knysna and Pick n Pay. We would also like to thank our communities for supporting Eden FM. Thank you Knysna - you made our day extra special."
