KNYSNA NEWS - The 2021 Simola Hillclimb has been postponed by four months by organisers, following lengthy discussions with stakeholders about the safety and possibility of having the event in its original time slot.
The Hillclimb was initially scheduled to take place in three months’ time, between 6 and 9 May, and up until last week organisers remained hopeful that they would be able to hold the event at that time.
However, yesterday the Knysna Speed Festival (KSF) announced that they had made the "difficult decision" to push the event back by four months.
“We were all set to run the event on our traditional May dates, but having engaged with all stakeholders, medical experts and other event organisers, the consensus is that May poses too much of a risk for the health and safety of attendees," KSF said in the statement.
The postponed event is now scheduled to take place from 2 to 5 September.
