KNYSNA NEWS - The latest edition of the Learner’s Licence Manual is now accessible free of charge to prospective learner drivers at all public libraries.
The new manuals were officially handed over during a visit from the Western Cape Government’s director of transport and licensing, Randal Barreiro, and the deputy director of the compliance monitoring unit, Charlton Majiedt, to Knysna.
The initiative aims to make it easier for aspiring drivers to prepare for the updated learner’s licence test by providing free access to the study material at municipal libraries.
Hard copies of the manual was made available on Monday 22 June, a PDF copy of the K53 manual had been pre-loaded and is accessible on all library computers. It is also available electronically for use on and off site, as it is not a hard copy and can therefore not be distributed or removed from the premises.
This additional resource will assist learners with their preparation ahead of testing. Municipal officials have encouraged those planning to obtain their learner’s licences to take advantage of the free resources and visit their nearest library to begin preparing for the examination.
They said this initiative forms part of efforts to improve access to information and support road safety through better driver education.
