PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Woolworths store in Plett’s Market Square is to get a major facelift and expansion which will see the store grow by 1 175m².
This will make the store a flagship for the group along the Garden Route.
"The cost of the expansion cannot be shared," said Rachel Alberts of the Woolworths Holdings press office.
The development is part of keeping up with bigger demand and the expansion of Plettenberg Bay in the past few years.
Major changes will see an expansion of the existing food market to offer more choice and better range. "We're also excited to introduce our new liquor store format, WCellar, to the market, which will sell a curated range of wines, spirits and beer," said Alberts.
The store will also be unveiling a new WCafé serving quality, convenient food and sustainable coffee.
Work on the extensions will start after Easter and the targeted completion time is early December.
"At the heart of this expansion is our desire to provide Woolies customers in the area an improved experience, and the opportunity to shop more of the Woolies Exceptional Quality they've come to love. The new store will have a much bigger footprint, and a wider range to choose from - we're looking forward to this exciting new step,"” said Alberts
The final plans are not confirmed but the real estate team is confident that while every revamp comes with some disruptions to the store environment, they will ensure that this is managed as best as possible.
"Our customer experience is a top priority and the management team will work hard to ensure any disruptions are kept to a minimum," Alberts said.
