GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The driver of the black Audi Q5 that was involved in the horror crash that claimed the life of Danielle van Jaarsveld (44) on Sunday 6 November 2022, will make his next court appearance on 15 February next year.
Gareth Webster (39) is facing charges of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving after the Audi he was driving crashed into Van Jaarsveld's Kia Rio on Swartvlei Beach Road between the Sedge Links golf club and Swartvlei Beach.
Webster made his previous court appearance earlier this month where his legal representative, Nikita Zackey of Brand & Van der Bergh Attorneys, indicated that her client is willing to enter into a plea bargain with the state.
Van Jaarsveld died in the head-on collision, while her sister-in-law, Monique van Zyl (29), a passenger in the car, sustained serious injuries. The women were on their way to the beach when the Audi came from the opposite direction and the two cars collided.
