KNYSNA NEWS - A motor vehicle accident occurred shortly after 17:00 yesterday, Tuesday 27 January, along the Brackenhill stretch of the N2.
The vehicle is believed to have veered off the road, overturned, and landed in bushes next to the fence of a nearby home. Law enforcement and emergency services, including a fire engine, responded to the scene.
Onlookers allege that two individuals - believed to be the driver and a passenger - emerged from underneath the wreckage and were seen discarding alcohol from the vehicle. Witnesses further claim that the driver may have been intoxicated and had been travelling at high speed.
According to eyewitness accounts, the two individuals allegedly left the scene in another vehicle, carrying bottles of alcohol.
When approached for comment, a police official informed Knysna-Plett Herald that the driver could not be located and that authorities were unaware of the manner in which the individuals left the scene. The extent of possible injuries remains unknown.
