PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Local football coach Sinovuyo Manie has once again showed why he is highly regarded in local soccer circles. Known for his work with teams like Oriented Birds, Bitou Young Pirates, Simunye (George) and La Liga FC (Knysna), Manie led his newly formed squad, City All Stars FC, to a top four finish in their debut tournament.
He has drawn top talent from across the area to the new City All Stars FC, which took part in the 2025 Ngxongo Deluxe Youth Soccer Celebrations tournament in Hankey from 14 to 16 June.
Sixteen teams competed in the tournament, which formed part of Youth Month celebrations, promoting football and uniting local communities while honouring the legacy of 16 June 1976.
Manie was proud of his new squad who performed well despite limited preparation time. "We didn't convert all our chances, but the boys lifted their standard of football," he said.
Looking ahead, Manie is committed to developing regional talent and building on this foundation. "I want to bring football back to communities and hopefully reach the professional level some day."
