KNYSNA NEWS - Shoppers arriving in Knysna’s central business district this morning found the Knysna Checkers Mall closed following an electrical fire on the premises.
According to a statement made available on the Knysna Daily Facebook page, the building was evacuated as a precaution and all emergency protocols were immediately implemented. No injuries have been reported.
The statement further indicated that property owners and tenants operating within the mall have been formally notified of the closure. Relevant authorities are on site assessing the situation and ensuring the area remains secure.
Public safety remains the municipality’s highest priority, with further updates expected to be communicated as more information becomes available.
