Body of drowned man retrieved

Knysna Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was retrieved in the water near Thesen Islands this morning.

KNYSNA NEWS - The body of a 63-year-old man was found in the water near Thesen Islands this morning, 21 December.

Knysna Police have opened an inquest docket to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Reports suggest that the man was fishing with friends during the early morning hours when he landed in the water and disappeared. A search-and-rescue team was activated and commenced with a search.

Circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
