The 18-year-old accused, Lulama Candani, allegedly slit the little girl's throat in December last year and hid her body in dense bushes just metres from her home.
The matter was however postponed due to a delay in Candani's psychiatric evaluation.
During his last court appearance on April 17, it was indicated that Candani wanted to be sent for psychiatric evaluation at the Valkenberg Hospital in Cape Town.
State prosecutor Henriette Breedt, however, told the court on Thursday that Candani was still only number 118 on the hospital's admissions waiting list.
She added that the state also wanted to appoint a team of independent psychiatrists to evaluate Candani and that this could only be done on Monday, May 18.
The case was therefore postponed to Monday for independent psychiatrists to be appointed. Candani, who has not applied for bail since his arrest on December 9 last year, remains in custody.
Sesona went missing on Sunday, December 7 after playing with friends near Candani’s home.
