KNYSNA & PLETT NEWS - In today's increasingly cashless world, many of us find ourselves without physical money, leading to the familiar "Sorry, I have no cash" moment, especially when we want to show appreciation to informal service providers such as car guards.
A simple way to support your local car guards
We are excited to announce that Tip4Change is now fully operational in Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, bringing a convenient, safe and secure way to tip your local car guards electronically.
Tip4Change: Bridging the payment void
Tip4Change is dedicated to bridging the "payment void" that exists where the cash-based informal sector meets our transforming cashless society, particularly for under-banked individuals.
We empower car guards to receive cashless tips, ensuring their hard work is rewarded. This means car guards no longer have to let tips go just because customers don't have cash.
We are proud to be working with over 1 000 car guards and petrol attendants across the Western Cape, providing an opportunity for income improvement and ensuring access to cashless payments for these vital members of our community.
How to tip in Knysna and Plettenberg Bay
The process is incredibly simple and secure for both Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.
Knysna: All official Knysna car guards are equipped with a unique Tip4Change card and wear red bibs.
Plettenberg Bay: Car guards are equipped with Tip4Change cards for cashless tipping and wear blue vests.
To tip: All you need is your smartphone and one of two widely used, safe and secure payment applications: SnapScan or Zapper. You can also use your banking app's QR code scanner.
Simply download one of these apps, scan the car guard's QR code, select the amount you wish to tip, and confirm the payment.
The car guard receives the payment in real time.
Tip4Change's role is to facilitate this cashless exchange. We provide the car guards with their individual QR codes and manage the platform that allows them to accumulate these tips in their e-wallet and later transfer or withdraw their earnings.
By using Tip4Change, you're not just giving a tip; you're connecting positive intent with positive impact.
