KNYSNA NEWS - Lily Donnell, a Grade 8 pupil at Oakhill School, became the first girl in the school's history to be selected for the Western Cape Schools hockey team.
Trials were held in May this year at Hartleyvale Stadium in Cape Town.
About 60 boys and 60 girls from the various regions making up the Western Cape attended, namely Western Province North, Western Provence South, Boland and Eden.
Four hours of round-robin matches were played before a squad of 15 players was announced, where Lily was selected for the U14 girls team.
