KNYSNA NEWS - Seven people were left injured after a collision on the N2 just outside Knysna near the Buffalo Bay turnoff.
The accident happened this morning, May 26, at about 11:00.
According to Pieter Rossouw, ER24 spokesperson, the collision involved only one vehicle, a bakkie. “It is believed that the bakkie may have had a mechanical failure which allegedly caused the collision. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the injuries that were sustained, ranged from critical to moderate.
“ER24 treated and transported two patients to Mediclinic George for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene.”
The incoming double lanes towards Knysna are open for traffic at this stage, but controlled by provincial traffic officials.
Captain Malcolm Pojie spokesperson for SAPS said more information on the accident will be communicated as it becomes available.
What is clear so far is that everybody survived the accident, said Pojie. “The injured were rushed to local hospitals.”
