KNYSNA NEWS - The Eden FM Winter Annual Soup Drive was meant to be held on Monday 29 May, but had to be cancelled due to a theft from the radio station's bus.
The incident happened on Sunday evening, 28 May, when the bus was parked outside of a guest house in Old Place.
A number of items were stolen, including a Behringer 24 mixer, a sound guard, an Eden FM jacket, audio cables, two microphones, two electric leads and a portable router. A case of vehicle burglary was filed at Knysna police on Monday 29 May.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies confirmed that detectives in Knysna are investigating a "theft out of motor vehicle" case.
"Information available indicates that the vehicle was parked outside an accommodation establishment. The following morning the driver noticed that a window was removed to gain access to the vehicle. Upon further inspection it was found that some items were stolen. The suspect is still at large," Spies said.
The Annual Winter Soup Drive will now be postponed to next year as the losses from the theft have set the plans back. The Eden FM team apologised for the inconvenience to its listeners and supporters who had been anticipating the Annual Soup Drive.
Eden FM still wishes to thank the following sponsors of the Eden FM Winter Soup Drive:
