KNYSNA NEWS - After lockdown was downgraded to Level 4 on Friday 1 May, people were finally allowed out of their houses again, and even though only for three hours a day, Knysna residents along with the rest of the country were able enjoy some welcome fresh air.
KPH reached out to its readers via Facebook last week to hear what it was like for them to be out and about around the town for the first time in nearly a month-and-a-half, and received great responses from you, the readers.
Everyone shared a welcome relief at simply being able to be out of the house, while some also pointed out just how busy the areas they visited were.
"So, so happy to be out for 3hrs this morning. One hour walk and then a lovely cycle around Leisure Isle. My dog is over the moon, and my little boy a happy little chap. Pity the hours are not spread out more to avoid crowds." – Paula Draper
"Leisure Isle was quite busy but so beautiful to see everyone so happy." – Merle Florence
"It was manic with people, bikes, dogs, runners, walkers and cars. But good to walk the dog who had cabin fever of note. Lovely to be out again." – Susan Janice Kay
Some also shared photos of their time out around town.
Adrienne Esterhuyse shared his walkabout with his dogs.
Zoë Mortlock enjoyed some time out with her children.
Helen Louw had some fun with her son with an 08:00 run and bike ride.
