SEDGEFIELD NEWS & VIDEO - Sedgefield's pride and joy, Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, has arrived for her homecoming parade.
Demi-Leigh was welcomed by Mayor Eleanore Bouw-Spies and a large crowd of friends, family, dignitaries and locals.
She enjoyed lunch at Montecello Restaurant before heading to the Sedgefield Primary School where a parade has been organised in her honour.
The homecoming parade will start at 15:00 on the Sedgefield Primary School sport field and will go down Main Service Road which runs parallel to the N2, all the way to Vink Avenue, where it will turn left and loop back via Flamingo Avenue and Kingfisher Drive to the Main Service Road and back to the field.
Demi-Leigh's parents and grandparents, as well as numerous VIPs, will lead the parade followed by floats, dancers, bands, local schoolchildren and Harley Davidson bikers.
Back at the field, Demi-Leigh will hand out signed pictures of herself and pose for pictures with the public until 18:00, when she will head off to her next engagement.
