SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Sean Kelly, the man charged with the murder of Noreen Hampson, appeared briefly at the Knysna Magistrate's Court today.
The case was postponed for psychiatric evaluation.
The victim, Noreen Hampson (67), died on Saturday 2 February after being attacked in front of her house at 16 Marigold Street.
She sustained head injuries. The murder weapon is believed to have been a hammer.
Kelly admitted in open court to killing her, but argued it wasn't murder as it was not premeditated.
The 50-year-old is also facing numerous other charges including charges of assault, resisting arrest, and malicious damage to property.
The case is scheduled to resume at the Knysna Magistrate's Court on 16 May.
Kelly remains in custody.
