Update
KNYSNA NEWS - Results of the 2018 International Benchmarking Tests were released recently, and Oakhill once again found its learners' individual results and overall results up among the best.
Both Oakhill Preparatory and Oakhill College participate in the IBTs annually.
These tests are set by the Australian Council for Educational Research and are typically written by learners in November with the results usually released in May the following year.
Learners in Grade 3 write mathematics, English and science IBTs, while Grade 6 and 9 pupils write mathematics and English. The tests provide an excellent opportunity for pupils to compare their performance within their grade against the international averages, comprising around 6 000 to
7 000 pupils internationally, and about 4 000 pupils within South Africa.
The 2018 results were recently released and both the Oakhill Prep and College pupils have done Oakhill proud by producing results that compare extremely favourably with the international and national averages. One Grade 10 Oakhill learner who deserves special mention is Nate Macdonald, who received a certificate of honour for achieving 100% for the Grade 9 English IBT last year.
Nate Macdonald earned himself 100% in the Grade 9 English IBT.
