KNYSNA NEWS - According to a media statement by Knysna Municipality, night work will be implemented for the construction of the asphalt surface overlay on the N2 outside Knysna to keep traffic congestion minimal during normal daytime hours.
The work will commence on Friday 3 June and is expected to be complete in early July.
Night work between 19:00 and 05:00 will be implemented for the single-lane road section (3km long) which stretches from kilometre marker 54.80 to kilometre marker 57.80.
Due to the technical nature of the surface repair works, the related construction works can only be performed under Stop/Go conditions and half-width construction, with only one lane open to traffic.
The municipal social media post included a Western Cape Government notice that read: "We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation and understanding. The Western Cape Government is working hard to maintain our roads. Please drive carefully during this period of construction.
"Let us work together to ensure that our roads are safe. For you."
