Update
GEORGE NEWS - The pre-trial of three of the murder accused of Knysna ANC councillor, Victor Molosi (50), continued in the George Circuit High Court this morning, 20 August.
Molosi was on his way home from a School Governing Body meeting at 22:00 on Monday 23 July 2018 when a gunman opened fire on him. Molosi sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
He was taken to hospital in a private vehicle, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The accused - Velile Waxa, Vela Patrick Dumile and Mawande Makhala - were arrested in August last year.
The case was postponed for the pre-trial to continue on 11 September as Dumile has to undergo medical assessment in the Groote Schuur hospital in Cape Town and to give the state and defence time to resolve all outstanding aspects before trial commences.
Dumile and Makhala remain in custody. Waxa was released on a bail amount of R10 000 in March this year.
