WESTERN CAPE NEWS - Since the start of lockdown on Thursday 26 March until 06:00 this morning (Wednesday 1 April) 1 793 people have been arrested for contravention of lockdown regulations across the Western Cape.
According to the Western Cape traffic chief, Kenny Africa, the Eden district has seen 304 arrests and 47 people have been arrested in the Central Karoo.
In the Cape Town metro 830 were arrested, 166 in the Overberg, 218 in the West Coast and 288 in the Cape Winelands.
The George Herald is still awaiting the exact number for each of the areas in the Eden district.
