KNYSNA NEWS - The Department of Labour will be hosting an advocacy session for employers in Knysna on Thursday, 31 August.
The advocacy session is aimed at employers residing in Knysna and also surrounding towns.
This outreach forms part of government’s effort to provide information and guidance to the businesses in general, but also to assist those who have been affected by the recent fires earlier this year in June.
The Department will be arranging this session to assist business owners with all their labour related queries.
It is the Department’s understanding that through this initiative, the Department may be able to provide some clarity to business owners who need assistance with general labour issues, employers who seek support for their staff during this period and also to offer possible assistance to those who may find themselves in limbo whilst rebuilding takes place.
All employers are invited to make use of this opportunity to meet with labour officials who specialise in various fields.
The advocacy session will thus focus on:
- Unemployment Insurance Fund
- Compensation Fund
- Public Employment Services
- Labour Activation Programme
- Training Layoff Scheme and
- Inspection and Enforcement Services
The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration will also be present on the day.
Those who are interested to attend may contact the Department of Labour, Knysna, on 044 302 6800 or email vodia.veldkornet@labour.gov.za or Lungelo.mnqibisa@labour.gov.za.
The session takes place at the Town Library, Main Street, Memorial Square in Knysna and starts at 09:00.
