KNYSNA NEWS - Fraaisig Primary School conducted a week-long anti-bullying campaign from 11 to 14 September to raise awareness and create a safe environment. The campaign included talks by community stakeholders, local law enforcement officers, mental health professionals, and child psychology experts.
The talks, facilitated by Manfred Soldaat, representatives of the NGOs Kilt and Sinethemba, police representatives, Kevin Marais, Edwin Pedro and Cameron Jantjies, provided valuable information and guidance on recognizing and addressing bullying behaviours.
The talks also highlighted the importance of bystander intervention, encouraging students to step up and support victims of bullying.
Students were encouraged to express their thoughts and creativity on visually captivating posters, which were displayed throughout the school premises.
The poster-making sessions allowed students to showcase their artistic skills and engage in meaningful discussions about the impact of bullying, promoting kindness, respect, and empathy towards their peers.
The campaign aimed to create a culture of empathy and compassion in the school community.
The learners were very enthusiastic and participated freely.
Fraaisig Primary School principal Constance Stuurman talks to the learners.
